Well, your wait is over, and spoiler alert... It’s because we do it differently.
We are an LA-based, family-owned, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), OTI (Ocean Transport Intermediary), Freight Forwarder, and a few other things. But since “logistics” became “Logistics”—somewhere between the Y2K Panic and the COVID-19 pandemic—we’ve been simply Dedola Freight Operating Transport Carrier Intermediary Common Global Non-Vessel Ocean Logistics. Folks just call us DGL.
We’ve spent the past 49 years doing what we do best, honing our craft. We’ve had our fair share of success, seen clients come and go, and many more stay and grow. We’ve seen it all, been there, done that. Year after year. If I had a dime for every shipment we’ve coaxed through this chain we call “supply,” well, we probably wouldn’t still be in business, right? Even ocean carriers make more than that! But I digress…
We could go on about our relentlessness, our client-centric excellence, but we know that, in the end, we’re at our best when you forget we’re even here. We exist to keep our clients’ supply chain friction-free.
We manage time and space. Sure, it's a big job, but someone’s got to —and after 49 years, we’ve pretty much nailed it. We’ve built a logistical machine so well-oiled that other machines use us as a benchmark.

We like to say we’re not just on the leading edge but walking the bleeding edge, much like Bill Murray in his woefully misunderstood Tibetan flick. (You know the one.) We’ve been tech-forward since the ’80s, back when 5MB servers and Lotus 1-2-3 were all the rage. In the ’90s, we logged on to AOL and hit the early Internet running with our client portal, TrakIT—beating UPS to the punch by a cool six months.
We’ve always believed that well-implemented technology is a powerful tool in our endless quest to reduce friction. A friction-free supply chain is resilient, efficient, and primed for success. As we harness these technologies, we’re extending our reach and expanding our capacity—bringing those benefits directly to our clients.

The new millennium brought us flip phones, freedom from the desk, and, not long after, the iPhone, putting a computer in our pockets with nearly 2,000 times the capacity of that 5MB server—and at about 1/100th the weight.
These technologies empowered DGL to deliver more services, more efficiently. Now, as we enter the age of AI, we’re once again pulling up to the tech buffet, ready to dive in. Intrigued by ChatGPT from the start, we quickly began exploring new ideas, building models, and brainstorming innovations. With GPT-4, we developed a comprehensive roadmap in just two months and began implementing an advanced CRM system soon after.
